An oxygen and hydrogen plant compresses oxygen, nitrogen and argon in the air, and extracts the respective gases through the processes of purification, cooling and rectification. The extracted gases are used for steel making processes.

A gas holder is a facility that keeps balance between generation and consumption of by-product gas from steel making processes, and ensures constant pressure and the uniform composition of the gases.

POSCO E&C has successfully performed the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a number of oxygen/hydrogen plants and gas holders based on its established technologies and rich experiences.
