Blooms produced via purity improvement processes in the continuous casting process are manufactured into billets at the blooms factory. Then, billets are converted into wire rod through the heating furnace, multiple rolling machines, precision rolling machine and the cooling process. Wire rod is typically used in various applications including spring steel and tire cords for automobiles.

POSCO E&C provides a full range of services covering engineering, procurement, construction and supervision works for heating furnaces, and rolling machine and cooling facilities based on its technologies and experiences acquired in the improvement of wire rod quality and has secured better competitiveness for the future.

As this revamping project designed to improve quality of wire rod products and increase production, the scope of project spanned supply, test run and installation of water cooler, reform tub and lubrication facilities.
