Daesan E1 LPG Tank Project

The Daesan E1 LPG Tank project scope included installation of LPG tanks with a capacity of 40,000 MTA and auxiliary facilities. These tanks are used to provide stable LPG supply to nearby petrochemical companies operating in the Daesan Petrochemical Complex.

POSCO E&C demonstrated high technical capabilities by comprehensively handling the design, facility supply, and installation works. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) mainly refers to propane and butane gas whereby propane and butane characteristically transforms into liquids when cooled at temperatures of approximately –42℃ and –0.5℃, respectively.

In their liquid state, the volume decreases to 1/250 and 1/230 respectively in comparison with their gaseous states. The decreased volume ensures convenient storage and the low-temperature storage tanks provide safe LPG in large quantities.
