Expectations of Energy Savings through the Application of a Zero-Leak System...
The Chungnam Provincial Government (Naepo New Town) automated waste collection facility site, executed by POSCO E&C, is a project to construct 2 automated waste collection facilities—which serve as municipal waste transport equipment within the new town following the relocation of related institutions (such as the Provincial Office, Provincial Council, Provincial Police Agency, and Office of Education)—along with approximately 40 km of transport pipelines and ancillary facilities.
Involving a total project cost of approximately 80 billion KRW, this project arranges optimal underground pipelines according to the new town's land use plan and waste generation volume, utilizing a Zero-Leak system to improve waste collection efficiency and realize energy-saving effects. The Chungnam Provincial Government (Naepo New Town) automated waste collection facility site carried out by POSCO E&C is a project to build 2 automated waste collection facilities, about 40 km of transport pipelines, and ancillary facilities to efficiently transport municipal waste within the new town following the relocation of major related institutions like the Provincial Office, Provincial Council, Provincial Police Agency, and Office of Education. Approximately 80 billion KRW was invested into this project, which strategically laid out underground pipelines considering the new town's land-use plan and waste generation volumes, while applying a Zero-Leak system to enhance waste collection efficiency and achieve energy savings.
The facility modernization project was designed by comprehensively considering optimal design factors, including securing functionality for efficient operation and management, undergrounding the facility in consideration of the environment, ensuring structural stability reflecting equipment and machinery loads, and cost efficiency. Furthermore, providing educational spaces and maintaining harmony with the surrounding environment were reflected as important design elements so that the facility could blend harmoniously with the local community.
Centered around the concept of a "friendly heart around us," the design of the municipal waste treatment facility was engineered taking into consideration the future and regional characteristics of the newly relocated Chungnam town. Emphasis was placed on hygienic and efficient waste transport and processing, a clean waste pipeline system, and the installation of automated collection facilities suited to regional conditions, while also striving to create a positive and friendly image for the facility.
